In a vote that should come as no surprise to Anteater sports fans, the UCI men's volleyball team's dramatic come-from-behind victory over USC to capture the NCAA title was voted the L.A. Sports Awards' "Greatest Sports Moment of 2009" for Division I schools (excluding USC and UCLA) in the Los Angeles/Orange County area.

UCI's win, which took place last May in Provo, Utah, was one of 15 greatest moments in college and professional sports that fans voted for online at the L.A. Sports Web site. It was the Anteaters' second national title in three years.

"Greatest Sports Moment" winners were announced during the Los Angeles Sports Council's annual awards show Feb. 19.
