Claire Trevor Film Festival: 'Key Largo,' Oct. 30

"Martinis & Blinis," the red-carpet premiere of the 1948 film classic "Key Largo," kicks off the Claire Trevor Film Festival and yearlong celebration of what would have been the actress's centennial birthday. 6:30 p.m. reception, 7:45 p.m. screening Saturday, Oct. 30. 'Into the Woods,' Nov. 12-20

Little Red Riding Hood

The UCI drama department will present "Into the Woods," a Tony Award-winning musical that brings to life Cinderella, Jack (of beanstalk fame), Little Red Riding Hood and other beloved fairy-tale characters. Eli Simon, drama chair, will direct. 8 p.m. Nov. 12 and 13, 16-20; 2 p.m. Nov. 13, 14 and 20. A post-performance discussion with the creative team and cast will take place Nov. 18. Tribute to Marjorie Townsley Rawlins, Nov. 12

Marjorie Townsley Rawlins, who passed away in 2009, is serenaded by Rawlins Scholarship recipients.

The Claire Trevor School of the Arts will honor the late Marjorie Townsley Rawlins, patron and longtime friend of the music department, with a performance by the UCI Symphony Orchestra and UCI Choir. The program will include Beethoven's "Choral Fantasy" and excerpts from Humperdinck's opera, "Hansel & Gretel," as well as 19th century chamber music by former and current Rawlins Scholars. 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12.
