Financial magazine again names UCI a 'best value'

UCI students celebrate at Shocktoberfest

Kiplinger's Personal Finance has once again recognized UCI for delivering a stellar education at an affordable price. The popular financial magazine annually chooses the 100 "best values in public colleges," ranking UCI 17th nationally for 2010-11, up from 20th in 2009-10. Universities are selected based on academic quality, cost and financial aid.

Medical center recognized for heart program

The American Heart Association has recognized UC Irvine Healthcare's commitment to the highest standards of care for heart failure patients. The Get With The Guidelines — Heart Failure Silver Plus Award signifies that UC Irvine Medical Center has achieved at least 85 percent compliance for one year with AHA-specified standards of care for heart failure patients. The medical center's compliance rate was 96 percent.

UCI boasts 94 Best Doctors in America

Ninety-four UC Irvine Healthcare physicians have been named Best Doctors in America for 2011-12 in the latest peer-reviewed list compiled by Best Doctors Inc. UC Irvine has more physicians and specialties represented than any other medical group in Orange County. "Our goal is to provide the region with access to the best physicians in the widest range of specialties," said Terry A. Belmont, CEO of UC Irvine Medical Center.
