Spring perennial sale, May 21 & 22

The UCI Arboretum will hold its spring perennial sale, featuring unusual but easy-to-grow perennials from South Africa, California, Mexico and elsewhere around the globe. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, May 21, and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, May 22. UCI Arboretum. $2 for adults; children under 12 free.

'25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,' May 27-June 4

The UCI drama department will present the "25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," a Tony Award-winning play about six young people in the throes of puberty who learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily mean you're a loser. 8 p.m. May 27 & 28 and June 1-4; 2 p.m. May 28; 1 p.m. June 4.
