'Hidden Language of the Soul,' March 21

The Partners of the UCI Libraries will present a talk on "Hidden Language of the Soul: Dance Treasures in Special Collections & Archives," with Stephen MacLeod, public services librarian for UCI's Special Collections & Archives. He'll share highlights from the archives' dance collection, including books on early dance history and costume design, as well as photographs, programs and materials relating to George Ballanchine, Eugene Loring, Isadora Duncan, Donald McKayle, Martha Graham, Anna Pavlova, Katherine Dunham, Ted Shawn and Ruth St. Denis. 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, March 21. A joint venture of Orange County Public Libraries and the UCI Libraries, Literary Orange 2012 will include panel discussions on fiction, mysteries, memoirs, law, true crime, fantasy, history and other topics; book signings; and keynote talks by authors Lisa See and Paula McLain. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, April 14. Hossein Omoumi is a master of the ney, the traditional reed flute of Iran.

'Dance Escape,' April 19-21
